Xinghua owns and operates two highly accessible multi-purpose ports in Changshu City. These ports are strategically located on the Changjiang (Yangtze) River Delta, serving a vast economic zone that spans east and central China.

Xinghua’s multipurpose ports have a total of 16 berths with combined quay length of over 2.57 kilometres and an extensive land area of 1.36 square kilometres. Its deep waters of 13 to 13.3 metres can accommodate vessels up to 85,000dwt.

Board of Directors

Mr Patrick Ng

Chairman and Executive Director

Mr Patrick Ng is the Chairman of both the Board and Nomination Committee and an Executive Director of Xinghua Port Holdings Ltd. He is responsible for providing leadership, guidance and strategic counsel to the Group.

In 1994, Mr Ng, then an Executive Director of Pan-United Corporation Ltd (PanU), was tasked to spearhead the development of PanU’s port project in Changshu with the local authorities. After establishing the port, he subsequently assumed day-to- day management. Within PanU, Mr Ng concurrently became CEO in 2004 and was re-designated as Deputy Chairman in 2011.

Mr Ng is a Director of several subsidiaries and associate companies within the Group. These include SCDC, CXP and CCIP. Mr Ng holds a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Oregon, USA.

Mr Edward Kor

CEO and Executive Director

Mr Edward Kor is the CEO and Executive Director of Xinghua Port Holdings Ltd. Besides strategic planning, he is responsible for implementing Board decisions; monitoring and supervising Group performance, capital and management; and reporting to the Board. Mr Kor is also a Director in subsidiary, SCDC.

He has nearly 20 years of experience in the port industry, joining the Group as President and Director of CXP in 2000. This was after about 12 years in the marine industry, where he held senior management positions in Metalock (S) Ltd (now MTQ Corporation Ltd), Sembawang Marine & Logistics Ltd, PT Gema Sembrown, Sembawang Corporation Ltd in postings to the Middle East and Indonesia, and Sonat Offshore Drilling Inc. Mr Kor started his career as an accountant with Designers Fountain Inc in 1985.

Mr Kor holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from Michigan State University, USA, and a Master of Business Administration with Distinction from the Polytechnic of East London (now known as University of East London), UK.

Ms Jane Ng

Executive Director

Ms Jane Ng is an Executive Director of Xinghua Port Holdings Ltd and a member of the Remuneration Committee. She is responsible for ensuring capital and managerial resources to implement business strategies; and setting and monitoring directions, targets and plans for the management team. Ms Ng is also a Director in subsidiary, SCDC.

Ms Ng joined Pan-United Corporation (PanU) as group financial controller in 1997. She later became general manager for special projects in 2002 and then executive director of Pan-United Marine Ltd in 2004 before being appointed as an executive director of PanU in 2009.

Ms Ng has a Diploma in Mechanical Engineering from Singapore Polytechnic and a Bachelor of Science degree (Summa Cum Laude) from the University of Oregon, USA.

Mr Alan Chan

Non-Executive Director

Mr Alan Chan is a Non-Executive Director of Xinghua Port Holdings Ltd and a Director of subsidiary, CXP. He was a Director of subsidiary, SCDC in various periods from 1994 to 2017.

Mr Chan has extensive experience in the shipping industry, having owned and operated Petroships since it began in 1993, where he is currently a director. He is also a director of Sinoquest Pte Ltd and the Confucius Neo-Institute, Qufu, PRC (曲阜儒學新 院文化交流有限公司).

In 2014, Mr Chan was awarded an honorary doctorate degree by Bond University, Australia. He is a mentor of the Morningside Cultural China Scholars Programme of Zhejiang University, PRC. Mr Chan completed the advanced management program at Harvard University, USA, in 1979.

Mr Lee Cheong Seng

Member of Audit Committee

Mr Lee Cheong Seng is a Non-Executive Director of Xinghua Port Holdings Ltd. He is also a Member of the Audit Committee. Mr Lee is a Director of subsidiary, CXP. He was a director of subsidiary, SCDC from 2005 to 2017.

Mr Lee holds a Bachelor of Engineering degree with First Class Honours in Chemical Engineering from the University of Adelaide, Australia. His other academic credentials include a Diploma in Management Studies from the University of Chicago Graduate School Of Business, USA, and a Master of Applied Finance from the University of Adelaide, Australia.

Mr Lee is also a fellow of the Singapore Institute of Directors.

Mr Tan Chian Khong

Independent Non-Executive Director

Mr Tan Chian Khong is an Independent Non-Executive Director of Xinghua Port Holdings Ltd. He is also the Chairman of the Audit Committee and a Member of the Nomination Committee.

Mr Tan has some 35 years of experience in the audit industry through his career at audit firm Ernst & Young LLP since 1981, where he was last a partner until 2016. Among his many external appointments, he was in the complaints and disciplinary panel of the Accounting and Corporate Regulatory Authority of Singapore from 2004 to 2010, and a member of the investigation and disciplinary panel of the Institute of Singapore Chartered Accountants since 2015. He has served on the board of the Casino Regulatory Authority of Singapore since 2016.

Mr Tan has a Bachelor of Accountancy degree from the National University of Singapore, a Master of Business Administration from the University of South Australia, and a Master of International Environmental Management from the University of Adelaide, Australia. He is a fellow of CPA Australia, the Institute of Singapore Chartered Accountants, and the Singapore Institute of Directors.

Mr Soh Ee Beng

Independent Non-Executive Director

Mr Soh Ee Beng is an Independent Non-Executive Director of Xinghua Port Holdings Ltd and Chairman of the Remuneration Committee. He is also a Member of the Audit and Nomination Committees.

Mr Soh is managing director and head of advisory for South East Asia at the Hongkong and Shanghai Banking Corporation Ltd. He has over 20 years of investment banking experience in Asia. His previous appointments were as the managing director and head of investment banking of N M Rothschild & Sons (Singapore) Ltd, and CEO and head of investment banking of BNP Paribas Peregrine (Singapore) Ltd. Mr Soh has wide experience in investment banking transactions in Asia. These include mergers and acquisitions, initial public offerings, equity placements and equity linked transactions.

Mr Soh has a Bachelor of Accountancy degree with First Class Honours from Nanyang Technological University, Singapore.

Mr Ting Yan Ann

Independent Non-Executive Director

Mr Ting Yian Ann is an Independent Non-Executive Director of Xinghua Port Holdings Ltd. He is also a member of the Audit and Remuneration Committee.

Mr Ting was executive director and chief executive officer of Dragon Crown Group Holdings Limited from December 2010 and September 2011, respectively until September 2017. He has over 28 years of management and operation experience in the terminal and storage of liquid chemical products. His previous appointments include various positions at GATX Terminals (Jurong) Pte Ltd from 1988, and where he was president and chief executive officer from 1997 to 2001.

Mr Ting has a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from University of Southern California, USA.

Senior Management

Mr Keith Gan

Group Financial Controller

Mr Keith Gan is the Group Financial Controller of Xinghua Port Group, responsible for the finance, treasury, internal controls and safety functions.

Mr Gan was previously the Group Financial Controller of Pan-United Corporation Ltd for 10 years before his transfer to Xinghua in 2017. Prior to joining PanU, he was the general manager of Honeywell Aerospace Pte Ltd and before that, the head of organization and administration of REHAU Pte Ltd.

Mr Gan has a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Oregon and a Master of Business Administration from the University of San Francisco.

Ms Wang Fang

Vice President, Commercial

Ms Wang Fang is the Vice President of Xinghua Port Group, responsible for overseeing the business development, strategic planning and commercial functions.

Ms Wang has over 20 years of experience in the port industry. She joined Xinghua as a Logistics Manager in 1996. Since then, she has elevated her scope and expertise in her extensive career with the Group. Her portfolio includes managing a wide spectrum of port operations including commercial, warehousing, safety, quality management and security.

Ms Wang is a graduate of the Central Communist Institute with a Diploma in Economic Management.

Ms Xu Lei

Assistant General Manager, Finance

Ms Xu Lei is Assistant General Manager for Finance at Xinghua Port Group, responsible for capital planning, management and the Group’s interface with financial institutions.

Ms Xu has over 20 years of experience in finance and treasury management. She joined the Group as an assistant accountant in 1997. Since then, Ms Xu has widened her portfolio in the Group beyond finance to cover technology, procurement, corporate services, commercial, safety, quality management and security management. She also doubles up as assistant general manager of CCIP.

Ms Xu has a Bachelor’s Degree in Accountancy from Jiangsu University and a Certificate of Accounting Profession.

Mr Zhou Weida

Assistant General Manager, Operations

Mr Zhou Weida is Assistant General Manager of Operations, responsible for managing day-to-day port operations including warehousing and facility maintenance.

Mr Zhou has over 13 years of experience in the port industry. He joined the Group in April 2004 as a senior supervisor for port operations and has risen through various managerial positions within the Group. These include operations, warehousing and the maintenance of facilities.

Mr Zhou has a Diploma in Operations of Ocean-Going Vessels from Guangzhou Maritime College.

Ms Xu Li

Senior Manager, Corporate Services

Ms Xu Li is Senior Manager of Corporate Services, responsible for finance, information technology and procurement.

Ms Xu has over 12 years of experience in the port industry. She joined the Group in 2005 as a supervisor in the finance department. Since then, she has widened her spread of management expertise within the Group beyond finance into information technology and procurement.

Ms Xu has a Bachelor’s Degree in Accountancy from Nanjing Audit University and a Certificate of Accounting Profession.

Mr Huang Jianfeng

Senior Manager, Commercial

Mr Huang Jianfeng is Senior Manager of the Commercial Department, responsible for developing the Group’s commercial business.

Mr Huang has over 14 years of experience in the port industry. He joined the Group in 2003 as a management trainee in the Operations Department, taking charge of scheduling. Since then, Mr Huang has risen up the management ladder within the Commercial realm, accumulating in-depth experience and expertise in growing the port business. He is also Chairman of CXP’s labour union.

Mr Huang has a Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science from North University of China.
